Facebook allows Vietnamese users to send high quality photos via Messenger

Facebook has just updated a new feature for users in Vietnam, allowing sending high quality photos with original resolution through the Messenger application.

One drawback of the Facebook Messenger messaging application is that it automatically compresses photo and video files when users send them through this application. This will reduce the size of photo and video files, helping the file sharing process go faster, but at the same time, the quality of the file sent to the recipient will also be significantly reduced.

In November 2017, Facebook fixed the drawback in the Messenger application when updating the feature that allows users to send original quality and high-resolution photos and videos through Messenger.

With this new feature, users can send images with resolution up to 4K (equivalent to 4096 x 4096) via Messenger and the recipient will receive images with original resolution.

However, when this feature was first launched, Facebook only equipped users in some countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Singapore, Japan...

After a long time since its first launch, Facebook has recently allowed users in Vietnam to send high quality photos through the Messenger messaging application.

To use this feature, every time you use the file sending feature on the Messenger application, check the "HD" icon in the image file selection dialog box. At this time, images sent via Messenger will retain the same quality and resolution.

On the recipient's side, images sent in high quality mode will be accompanied by an "HD" icon for their clarity.

Recipients can view and download high-quality photos, with original resolution, sent when using the Messenger application on smartphones as well as using Facebook Messenger on computer web browsers.

Unfortunately, the new feature on Messenger only supports sending high-quality photos, while video files sent through this application are still compressed and reduce quality.

Currently, the feature of sending high-quality video files via Messenger only supports users in some countries such as the US, UK, France, Denmark, Singapore, Korea, Canada... It is unclear when Facebook will bring this feature to the market. with users in Vietnam.
