Sandbox announced Thursday a partnership with Warner Music Group, or WMG, to create a music theme park and concert venue in the metaverse game. Warner Music Group LAND in The Sandbox will host live concerts and experiences with artists and talent represented by WMG.
This initiative marks Warner Music’s first entry into the NFT metaverse realm. According to a statement shared with Cointelegraph, their goal is to create rich social experiences that empower Warner Music artists. Sandboxes can give artists another outlet to interact with their fans, experiment with virtual entertainment, and create new revenue streams while reaching a global community.
Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox says that the partnership “brings metaverse openness a step in the direction of fan-driven and community-driven initiatives. ”
“We are shaping The Sandbox as an exciting entertainment destination where creators, fans, and players can enjoy a unique immersive experience and are more closely connected with artists. their favorite musicians through NFT,” he added.
Digital Land remains in high demand and consistently high transaction volumes on The Sandbox have made it one of the most competitive supermarkets with rival Decentraland. According to the company, The Sandbox will hold a LAND sale in March 2022 to allow music fans to purchase LAND adjacent to the WMG property.

WMG, which includes record labels like Atlantic, Warner Records, Elektra and Parlophone, is the latest partner to buy properties in The Sandbox metaverse, joining The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Steve Aoki, The Smurfs and CryptoKitties .
